The Heat Youth Organization is a non-profit 501(c) 3 status organization, formulated in 1994, operating in the Parish of St. John the Baptist Parish. The founders are Eric Rogers Sr., Kirland Green, and Barry Jones of Laplace, Louisiana. The philosophy behind our program is not only to instill the basic fundamentals of participating in recreational sports, but to enrich the minds of our young members in teaching them discipline, self-responsibility and teamwork. In 1994 we offered only basketball and had a membership of twenty five (25) children. We later expanded our program to include baseball. Because St. John Parish Recreation does not offer youth football, we further implemented a football program in 1999. Today we now only offer youth football to children in three(3) age groups: 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 year olds. We saw the need for this program, met those needs and we now service over one hundred twenty five (125) children within our community , which also includes youth cheerleading. At the end of each season, we celebrate our member's accomplishments by hosting our Annual Awards Ceremony. Along with athletic recognition, our participants are also awarded for their academic achievements as well. We are proud to say that over 85% of our members are on the honor roll each year. Despite very little financial backing or sponsorship, we have managed to keep this program in operation for over thirteen (13) years. We truly recognize the need to keep our children involved in a positive motivating atmosphere . We are proud of what we have been able to accomplish and by servicing the children and families of our community in this capacity. We look forward to many more years of success and service. NOW LET'S MEET THE CEO OF THE HEAT YOUTH ORGANIZATION!
